Main Line Independent is an Independent Open Class winter guard based out of Chester County, PA. MLI competes locally in the Mid-Atlantic Indoor Network (MAIN) and internationally in Winter Guard International (WGI).

Founded in 2015, Main Line Independent competed for the first time in the 2016 season. At the time, there were no longer any Open Class groups in the area and so MLI was created to provide a local opportunity for performers to develop their skills. Since then, we have been home to over 100 performers from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York. Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, and as far away as California, Georgia, and Texas. In 2023, Main Line Independent became a WGI Independent Open Class Finalist for the first time, coming in 13th place.

2025 marks MLI’s tenth year in competition! We are proud to have a rich history of diverse, crowd-pleasing programs.
